Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, near Hodgenville, Kentucky. He died on April 15 1865 in Washington, D.C. He was the 16th president of the United States, He served as the president from 1861-1865. He preserved the Union during the American Civil War. He issued the Emancipation Proclamation that declared forever free those slaves within the Confederacy in 1863.
According to Abraham Lincoln, "Democracy is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people."

There is nobody in Abraham's family left as, There were ten known descendants of Abraham Lincoln. The president's branch of the family is believed to have been extinct since its last undisputed descendant, Robert Todd Lincoln Beckwith, died on December 24, 1985, without any acknowledged children.
Nancy Lincoln (His Mother) died from Milk Sickness, leaving 11-year-old Sarah in charge of a household including her father, 9-year-old Abraham, and Nancy's 19-year-old orphan cousin, Dennis Hanks. Ten years later, on January 20, 1828, Sarah died while giving birth to a stillborn son.
